Agribusiness Graduate Program

Laura, Assistant Manager Business Banking, Shepparton

The ANZ Agribusiness Graduate Program opened my eyes to how the bank supports Australian farmers. Not only did I grow my knowledge of agribusiness banking, but I got to build strong relationships with my colleagues and meet customers operating in a range of different industries. The program encourages you to adapt to change both professionally and personally. It was an amazing opportunity that I highly recommend!

Hear from some of our grads

My name is Alexandra Mattei and I'm a 2018 graduate at ANZ. I work in the Australia division and I'm currently rotating in emerging corporate.

I applied at ANZ on the recommendation of my sister who completed the graduate

program two years prior and had a really great experience.

My day involves working with my team of six and supporting the managers to analyze financials, follow customer queries, and just do general follow-up.

I’ve realized that people are so approachable and happy to help. When I started I was a little bit nervous to ask for help and to reach out to people.

But I've since learned that people are really happy to help you, and as soon as they’ve found out that you've just started, well they're all ears.

Probably my perception before was ANZ was a bank and a lot of people think that banks are very rigid but that's actually not the case, that ANZ is quite the opposite.

We work in an ever-changing environment and nothing about our role is static.

We're always developing, it's a real learning environment which I really enjoy.

Fitness is really important for me in my daily life. I love all types of exercise…

I do a lot of running, I do boxing, I do circuit training. Where there's movement, I'm keen.

I was a little bit unsure about applying to a bank at the start and I'm so glad that I did because I'm really enjoying my time here and I talked to all the other graduates and they seem to be really enjoying it and learning a lot as well.

They're a really happy bunch.

My name is James Leonard, I am a current 2018 technology graduate.

I love my current rotation at the moment. It's a good foundation, I think becuase I get a taste of all the different systems within ANZ and I think that's a really good foundation for when I want to move into further rotations after that.

ANZ is forever thinking forward and they're always trying to find the best thing for their customers and trying to innovate with technology, with different services and stuff so they're very much in that space.

I was part of the all abilities program within ANZ and they're really inclusive of everyone in the bank and believe that everyone has value to give to the bank.

Basketball being a team sport, I think I bring a lot of those attributes of being in a team to ANZ.

Within basketball you have to work together, you have to communicate and you have to achieve a goal. And I think that's what I bring to ANZ and to this graduate group.

They were all starting from the same point, and we all have a goal and we all have to start to learn to work with each other, to achieve that goal.

There's always another way to achieve the same outcome. Throughout my whole life I've had to deal with the adversity of having cerebral palsy, and having to do the same thing in a different way.

So, whenever I've got a challenge, I always figure out another way to do it.

Being passionate about your job is really important and that's what the graduate program can really help you with.
